I recall reading this last year in your book 'The Grateful Unrich'. Powerful, brilliant!

Good to re-read, especially your concluding message (& the one conveyed to those poor working, angry, men)! The time is nigh...

As an Austrlaian I take exception, and I am sure every true blue Australian would, at your terming an Aussie expat in Malaysia as a "penal colony escapee" - For your information, according to Google AI:

"The last penal colony prisoners in Australia finished their sentences in 1868. This is when the final convict ship, the Hougoumont, arrived in Western Australia. While transportation of convicts ended that year, some convicts remained in the colony to serve out the remainder of their sentences."

But whenever the last penal prisoners served their sentences is immaterial. Australia was settled by mainly migrants from the Crown monarchies of Europe, and some from Asia, especially China, just as America was so settled. The settlers followed the Crown. We were a penal colony for a time, and some, including myself, would argue we are still a colony of Britain because the bloody Crown enslaves us all, which is exactly the same problem that you Americans have as well. Our common enemy is the Crown, and its agents and assets, the monarchies, the bankers and billionaires.

As a sixth generation Australia, who is descended from settlers and not from penal colony inmates, let me tell you that I regard myself as an indigenous white Australian, just as I am sure that you regard yourself as an indigenous white American - and I have no relationship, no respect, and no time from the bloody Crown that still enslaves our people. And yours.

Calling Australians 'penal colony escapees' would me like me calling Americans 'escapees from European poverty' or perhaps 'Red Indian mass murderers.' It's a nasty all encompassing label that is derogatory, unnecessary and ignorant.

You're better than that Dean - and while I know you wrote that a long time back, I rather hope your thoughts on Aussies have mellowed and matured along the way.

Cheers from a "penal colony escapee" - otherwise known as a a dam proud Australian.
